The Forces of Tolerance

I don't know if you are interested at all in the current Brouhaha over the Hugo awards, but to make recap it as briefly as possible, at least two Authors felt that they were being passed over for consideration for awards because gender/color/sexual identity and politics.

Not because they were female, black, lesbian, leftists, but because they were the opposite.  So, they formed a list of works they thought that people should vote for, and based that list on, get this, the value of the works themselves.  I mean we all know that the Hugo's themselves are supposed to be awarded based on the literary value of the work time the inverse of  assumed white/male/straight/ christian/conservative/patriarchy power value.  (I'll explain that in a future story) right?  I mean no, Wikipedia says that the Hugo is to be awarded "for the best science fiction or fantasy work and achievements of the previous year".  Curiously, I couldn't find something similar on the Hugo Webpage.

Anyway, the author's started their own slat of proposed winners, and guess what, many of those actually got nominated to win Hugo's.  I do love my sci fi books, but until this thing  blew up, I had never heard of a Hugo, I guess that makes me a not true fan, contrary purchases of hundreds if not thousands of books not included.

Then the liberal butt hurting started, apparently actually suggesting that people vote for titles is a bad thing, Even though it has been done before, and isn't against the rules.  Even the website says that:
... Excessively campaigning for a Hugo Award can be frowned upon by regular Hugo voters and has been known to backfire.
Thus apparently it is legal.

Then Entertainment weekly's least senior editorial content 14th assistant had to jump into the fray, her heavily corrected missive can be found here, the original stored here.    Isabella Biedenharn, (according to her LinkedIn profile, on the job for 6 months, and her Contently profile says she is a writer with a strong affinity for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West) stirred up a storm by referring to two of the most notable authors names.  Names like misogynist and implied  a racist basis for the tactic.

That backfired.  I wonder if the author's will sue now?  That would be entertainment!

I don't know what will come of the Hugo's and I really don't care.  What I want you, dear reader, to get out of this is that the forces of the left are the forces of hate.

They hate you based on your gender (if you are a man).

They hate you on the color of your skin (if you aren't brown or black).

They hate you for your religion (unless you are Buddhist or Islamic).

They hate you if you disagree with them on anything.

They hate you for being successful.

They hate you for not kowtowing to their demands.

If you aren't one of them you need to understand this mindset.  This is the mindset that is tearing this country apart.  They portray themselves as the souls of reasonableness, while they call people vile names and issue death threats. because, of course "tolerance or death" is their battle cry!
